FAQ
Insulation
Why Insulate?
Lower Your Bills.
Insulating your home will significantly lower your bills. But apart from saving cash, new EU rules require homeowners to certify how energy efficient their houses are before they sell. This is called a BER (Building Energy Rating Certificate). This shows how much it costs to light and heat your home.
The residential sector of Ireland produces 24% of our annual CO2 emissions. The aim is to reduce energy and CO2 emissions. All houses built before 2006 were not insulated to the standard that is now needed. So therefore, any build before 2006 are eligible for the grant.
